The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka starred with Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang and Vir Das in the film Badmash Company. It was met with mixed receptions. Anushka played a Punjabi girl of middle class in a movie named 'Band Baaja Baraat. The film featured her alongside Ranveer. The movie got positive reviews. Anushka completed her three-film deal together with Yash Raj Films after Band Baaja Baaraat.
